Mission and Vision Statement

Strengthening stability through collective action and providing financial support to the precious organizations that do this crucial work.

We strive to bridge and expand services for individuals, families, and survivors of systemic abuse and domestic violence. Our mission is to create a network of stability, healing, and hope by connecting nonprofits, donors, survivors, and community members to build pathways toward empowerment. Through shared purpose and partnership, we envision a Thurston County where survivors have more space, children's voices are heard, victims are believed, and cycles of harm are shattered beyond reproach.

Systemic abuse and domestic violence don't just affect individuals ~ they ripple through generations, communities, and institutions. By supporting organizations that provide safety, education, shelter, advocacy, resources and empowerment, L.I.T. helps restore dignity and stability to those rebuilding their lives. This work matters because every person deserves safety, opportunity, and belonging. When we invest in survivors and our local non profit organizations we are investing in the health and resilience of our entire community.

The Problem

Good organizations are stretched thin.

Across Thurston County, the nonprofits supporting survivors and families are facing more need and less room to meet it. Demand for services keeps rising, while grants and public funding are being cut or spread thinner across more applicants.

These organizations are already doing the work. What they need isn't more competition for the same shrinking pool of dollars ~ it's a steadier, simpler source of support.

A resale store driven by unwarranted love.

We keep local returned merchandise and donated household items out of the waste stream, resell them right here in Thurston County, and turn every sale into direct funding for our nonprofit partners.

Meet Our Board

The people steering L.I.T.

Alli Ewing

Board Chair

Alli serves as Executive Co-Director of YWCA Olympia, where she's worked since 2023. She's a facilitator, a trauma-sensitive yoga teacher, and a mom who brings a background in trauma-informed care to her leadership ~ from training with the Center for Trauma and Embodiment to guiding youth and staff at a residential treatment program. Before her work in Olympia, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania and worked with the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative. Alli leads with a belief that healing happens in community.

Melanie Jatta

Board Member

Melanie brings decades of experience as an advocate for safe, affordable housing through her work with the Housing Authority of Thurston County, where she'll retire this coming October. Her years spent connecting individuals and families to stable housing give her a deep, first-hand understanding of the gaps L.I.T. exists to help close. She joins the board ready to keep that advocacy going.
